To extend the lifespan of your ICO connected water analyser, ensure accurate measurements and maintain its watertight seal, regular maintenance is essential. Here are the best practices for cleaning the body of the device, the lid and the seal, as well as the measuring probes.

Cleaning is necessary to prevent:
- deposits or dirt on the waterline,
- any dirt on the lid or its seal,
- deposits on the probes,
- or any other dirt that could interfere with the operation or measurements of the device.
Tip: Regular checks help to prevent the build-up of deposits and keep the ICO in good working order.
Clean the body of the appliance and the ICO waterline
During the season, a greasy film (sun cream, sebum) as well as limescale or algae deposits may build up on the ICO’s hull and around the waterline.
Fréquence : tous les mois
ICO cleaning procedure

- Remove the ICO from the water and switch it off.
- Rinse the ICO under clean running water.
- Clean the hull and waterline with lukewarm water using a soft (non-abrasive) sponge or a microfibre cloth.
- Pay particular attention to areas where deposits are visible.
- Rinse again with clean water.
⚠️ Never use:
- harsh detergents, solvents or alcohol-based cleaners.
- a scouring pad or stiff brush, which could scratch the plastic.
Check and clean the top cover and the ICO seal
The ICO’s seal is crucial for protecting its electronic components. The top cover and its seal are wear parts that are exposed to sunlight, temperature fluctuations and chemicals.
Procedure for inspecting and cleaning the top cover
Frequency: at the start of each season or every six months

Check that the seal under the lid is clean
- Carefully remove the top cover using the tool provided.
- Rinse the lid and the seal under clean running water.
- Gently wipe away any deposits with a soft, lint-free cloth. Dust, grains of sand or residue could compromise the airtight seal.
- Dry with a soft cloth.
Check the condition of the seal and the lid
- If the seal or lid is damaged (cracks, cuts or deformation), replace them immediately. The lid and its seal are available to buy on the ondilo.com website.
- Replace the top cover, ensuring that it is properly secured.
⚠️ Important: It is the user’s responsibility to replace any worn lids or seals in order to maintain the appliance’s watertight guarantee.
Cleaning ICO sensors (pH, ORP, conductivity)
The probes must be cleaned with care.
Frequency: every 2 to 4 weeks
⚠️ Golden rule: Never rub the glass bulb of the probe
- The probe’s glass bulb is sensitive.
- Friction generates static electricity, which interferes with the electrical signal and temporarily distorts the device’s measurements.
- Use a soft cotton cloth (not a microfibre cloth, to avoid static electricity)
Procedure for cleaning the probes

- Remove the protective cover from the sensors located on the underside of the ICO.
- Gently rinse the probes by immersing them in a container of mineral water (or demineralised water). You can gently shake the device in the water to dissolve any dirt.
- In the case of stubborn deposits (limescale, biofilm): Soak the probe for a few minutes in a specialised cleaning solution for pH/ORP probes.
- Drying:
- Do not dry or wipe the glass bulb of the probe with a cloth
- Simply allow the water to drain off naturally or dab the tip of the probe very gently with a soft, lint-free cloth
- Refit the protective cover and return the ICO to your swimming pool or spa.
⚠️ Never use cleaning products, detergents or abrasive substances on the probes.
💡Summary of best practice for cleaning ICOs
ICO must be used with clean water to prevent any build-up on the device and the probes.
| Element | Recommended frequency | Recommended method | To be avoided at all costs |
| Hull & waterline | Every month | A soft sponge or microfibre cloth + lukewarm water | Abrasive sponges, solvents |
| Seal and lid | During calibration or every 6 months | Gentle wiping & visual inspection | Dirt, cracks |
| pH & ORP probes | Every 2 to 4 weeks | Rinsing with mineral water or demineralised water + leave to air dry or pat dry with a soft cloth | Rub to clean or wipe the glass bulb Abrasive sponges, microfibre cloth |
