The conductivity probe (grey) measures TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). This allows you to measure:
The TDS probe is a wear part, even though it does not contain electrochemical components such as pH or ORP probes. Wear and tear can result from physical deterioration: limescale build-up, fouling (residues from sun cream, algae, etc.)
– Compatible with ICO Pool and Spa: Designed to work seamlessly with ICO Pool and ICO Spa systems, ensuring full compatibility.
– Easy to install thanks to the removal key supplied with your ICO (Twist&Lock system), which makes installation a breeze.

Replacing an ICO sensor is a simple procedure that extends the device’s lifespan without having to replace the entire unit. First, remove the ICO from the water, dry it thoroughly, then unscrew the lower section to access the sensors. Using the tool provided, remove the worn sensor by unlocking it.
Next, insert the new probe and secure it properly, then check aligning the two arrows (one on the device, the other on the probe)
Once the replacement has been carried out, the device must be placed back in the water for several hours to resume its measurements.
The TDS probe kit comprises a TDS (conductivity) probe, a mounting bracket and a guide to probe maintenance and replacement.
There is no need to calibrate a TDS probe, whether it is new or used. Unlike pH and ORP probes, calibration is not required for this type of sensor.
The TDS probe on your ICO measures the conductivity of the water, which allows you to estimate the salt level in your pool or spa.
If the TDS probe is not properly maintained, deposits may build up and affect the accuracy of measurements over time. It is therefore important to clean it regularly to ensure reliable readings.
To maintain its performance and extend its service life, it is recommended that you clean the TDS probe regularly. When you are not using your ICO, it is advisable to store it in a room at room temperature (15–25°C), with the black caps back on the probes, which contain small sponges soaked in storage solution.

TDS – Total Dissolved Solids – refers to the “volume of mineral solids, salts and metals dissolved in water”. It is measured in ppm (parts per million) or mg/l. Since the launch of ICO V2, only the Sel versions have been fitted with a TDS sensor
For salt-treated swimming pools and spas (ICO V1 and ICO V2)
For the Salt versions, ICO measures the salt content or salinity of the water in swimming pools and spas fitted with a salt chlorinator. The ideal TDS value is between 3,000 and 5,000 ppm (or 3 to 5 g/l).
For swimming pools and spas treated with chlorine and bromine (ICO V1)
Soluble substances include almost everything you put in your swimming pool or spa, such as disinfectants, specialised chemicals (clarifiers, algaecides) and balancing chemicals (pH+, pH-, stabilisers, TAC+, TAC-)
If there are too many of these substances, they can cause certain materials to oxidise or impair the effectiveness of treatments.
By measuring water-soluble matter, the effectiveness of your disinfectant and other related factors, ICO can alert you when your TDS is too high (> 2000 ppm) and recommend steps you can take to resolve the issue.
Replacing a TDS probe couldn't be simpler: using the removal tool supplied with the ICO, it's easy to unclip the old probe and clip the new one back on.

The ICO’s TDS (conductivity) probe does not require calibration.
Only pH and ORP probes need to be calibrated regularly to ensure the accuracy of the measurements.
The calibration solutions supplied with the TDS probe should be used to calibrate pH or ORP probes.
Under normal use, the sensors are designed to last for several years. Depending on usage and winter storage conditions, the service life is 2 to 4 years for ORP and pH sensors, and 5 to 6 years for the TDS sensor
