Testing the connection between your ICO and your router

WHAT DOES IT DO ?
  • During normal use, your ICO takes a reading every hour and sends them to our server. If you are unsure about the transmission of these readings you can perform a connection test. This allows you to check connection between your ICO and your router through your Wi-Fi network, as well as ICO’s connection to the server.
  • The connection test is only compatible with firmware versions 1.1.0 and later.
  1. To start a connection test once you are on the home page of your app click on Settings in the bottom right and then on my ICO.
  2. Once there, click on Connection test.
STEP 1 - STARTING THE TEST
  • Make sure you that you are at least 2 metres away from your ICO. Also check that your Internet connection is working.

  • Click on Start.
STEP 2 - TEST IN PROGRESS
  • Your ICO is trying to connect to the Internet, please wait a few moments…
    •

    • During this phase, first, your ICO is trying to connect to your Wi-Fi access point (router or extender). If it succeeds it will try and connect to the server through the Internet connection of your router.
      •

      • You need to stay close to your ICO through this whole process.
STEP 3 - RESULTS OF THE TEST

Successful Connection : Your ICO has successfully connected, now click on Done.

      What does this mean ?

      • Your ICO is connected to your routers Wi-Fi network.
      • Your ICO is communicating with the server through the Internet network.

Therefore, your ICO is sending the measurements that it has taken every hour.

These measurements are available on your ICO app.

Connection failed : If this error appears : your ICO has not been able to communicate either with your router or with the server.

This error could be due to the following reasons :

      • Your ICO is switched off
        • Check that your ICO is on
      • Your ICO is outside the reach of your Wi-Fi signal
        • Check the position of your ICO
        • Check your Wi-Fi coverage using your telephone
        • Check that you can access the Internet (On your mobile open the browser and try and load our website www.ondilo.com. Check that the page loads properly).
      • To find other solutions click on the What to do? tab on your app or contact Ondilo’s customer support
